Workshop Manager - Powered Access

We are seeking a dedicated Powered Access Workshop Manager to lead our dynamic workshop team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the safe and efficient refurbishment of scissor lifts. This role is crucial in ensuring the operational efficiency, safety compliance, and high-quality standards of our refurbishment processes.,

• Manage day-to-day operations of the scissor lift refurbishment workshop.


• Lead and motivate a team of both Electrical and Mechanical Workshop Engineers to achieve production targets.


• Supervise and support team members, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.


• Identify and address bottlenecks in the workshop processes, implementing changes to improve efficiency.


• Manage departmental discipline, holidays, sickness and absence, etc.


• Manage the recruitment process for the department.


• Ensure all team members adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices.
  
  Excellent leadership and team management abilities, capable of motivating and guiding workshop staff to achieve optimal performance and productivity.


• Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges that arise in the workshop environment.


• Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage resources effectively, and maintain a structured workflow.


• Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.


• Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and dynamic work situations, ensuring smooth operations and timely completion of projects.


• Customer service orientation, with a focus on meeting client expectations and maintaining strong relationships to drive repeat business and referrals.


• Continuous improvement mindset, actively seeking opportunities to enhance workshop processes, procedures, and efficiency.


Knowledge:

• NVQ Level 3 in mechanical or electrical engineering.


• Extensive experience in a management role of a workshop or similar environment.


• In-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and refurbishment processes.
