Full Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to schedule, initiate, and control work orders, establishes priorities, and coordinates requirements with the vehicle maintenance section and/or outside units. The incumbent will analyze and maintain related vehicle maintenance records. Will serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over employees assigned to the Vehicle Management & Analysis, Hazmat & Safety, and Material Control elements within the Logistics Readiness Flight. The Incumbent will administer all automated vehicle maintenance production programs and systems as well as control utilization to provide optimum support and economy of vehicle through the analysis of monthly management information system data and review of effectiveness of motor transportation policies and procedures. Lasty will assist the wing fleet manager in managing and accounting for vehicle control/inventory programs.,

  • · Hours of work: 0700-1530 Mon-Thu, 0700-1430 Fri Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with organization's flexible working policies.


  • · Will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules, and regulations.

    · Must obtain and maintain the appropriate Security clearance.

    · May be assigned other duties that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the employee.

    · May be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training. Position may be coded as mission essential.

    · A 6-month probationary period will be required.

    · Overtime may be required.

    · May be required to travel overnight to US or other countries in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training

    1. Position requires a high degree of tact and interpersonal communication skill.

    2. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. A valid CAT B driver's license is required for the position, and LGV/bus driver license is desirable.

    3. May be required to perform extended hours, on-call duties, shift work, working weekends, and overtime depending on mission requirements and management discretion.

    4. The Local National Direct Hire (LNDH) Program does not participate in regular drug testing, however positions covered by this document may be subject to drug testing upon reasonable suspicion of substance abuse, and safety mishap or accident testing.

    We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Vehicle Management and Analysis at the 420 Air Base Squadron, Royal Air Force Fairford, United Kingdom., 1. Knowledge of administrative and technical publications, technical terminology (automotive), Time Compliance Technical Order program, standard management practices, and automated data systems such as the On Line Vehicle Integrated Management System or similar programs.

    2. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, and processes.

    3. Extensive knowledge and understanding of resource management principles and procedures as related to transportation/vehicle maintenance control functions.

    4. Knowledge of records management guidelines, regulations, and procedures to include establishing, maintaining, and disposal of required documents/logs/reports.

    5. Ability to apply analytical methods and techniques to resolve regular and uncomplicated repair problems and/or deviate from normal maintenance management procedures or program requirements in accordance with accepted practices.

    6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to develop training plans and conduct training courses on vehicle control programs and procedures.
