Full Job Description

We are currently looking to appoint a Supported Housing Improvement Officer to join our Housing Solutions Team on a fixed term basis.
South Derbyshire District Council, in partnership with other Derbyshire Local Authorities, have successfully secured funding from the Department of Levelling up Housing and Communities to help drive up standards across supported accommodation and improve the quality of both the accommodation and support provided. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to some of the most vulnerable people in our district.
We are looking for a dynamic, professional, and motivated individual to lead a multi- disciplinary team and coordinate the delivery of the supported housing improvement programme (SHIP) across South Derbyshire . The successful candidate will have an understanding of the barriers faced by residents in supported accommodation and to help increase the quality and supply supported accommodation across the South Derbyshire area.
You will be working across a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Environmental Health, Planning, Housing Solutions, Community Safety and Housing Benefits. The successful candidate will act as point of contact within the partnership area, that will help regulate and improve the quality of supported accommodation across South Derbyshire and neighbouring local authority areas.

You will need to be confident, self-motivated with strong interpersonal and influencing skills and a proven ability to form strong working relationships with colleagues, partners, and residents.
You will have experience of working in a relevant field including: support, housing, social care, or benefits.
Ideally you will have a broad understanding of supported accommodation and experience of working with homeless people or people with complex needs.
