Spray Operator

We require a committed individual who will be a Spray Operator, as well as open to a variety of jobs on a working greenhouse site. The spray operator will be responsible for applying chemicals to a high value crop so it is very important that trust can be established with the operator. Additional greenhouse duties may be assigned from time to time by management relating to the function of producing/shipping plants and trees which are not related to spraying but remain in the same team - these jobs will most likely be forklift jobs or greenhouse and crop maintenance.

PA1, PA6, PA9 qualification

Valid Forklift License

The successful candidate should demonstrate:

Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and under tight deadlines cooperatively in a team following the pace and instruction of a team lead

Good communication skills in the workplace

Ability to work flexible hours, when needed to finish work in periods of fast growth and high production. We are unable to spray during the hot summer days to avoid burning the plants, so we regularly spray in the evenings. Holiday needs to be arranged in advance so that it does not clash with other spray operators

Some machinery and production knowledge

Ability to operate heavy machinery e.g. forklift truck and adhere to licensing/safe driving operating procedures when engaging equipment use

Attention to detail. There are many minor details which need to be constantly monitored on the spraying equipment and failure to take the time and effort to get these rights will waste chemical and increase the risk of pest's and disease

Responsibility to work safely and wear protective equipment as required to protect themselves, others and the environment

Training will be given on all jobs and machinery. The full time job role would be a guaranteed 39-hour week with an opportunity to work overtime when required. We offer competitive pay rates which will be negotiated prior to employment dependant on experience.
