Full Job Description

If so, we would like you to join our team. We are looking to recruit one part time 0.5 post social worker within the Fostering Service. There is potential for these hours to increase to full time in the future and also the opportunity to undertake some additional hours to undertake fostering assessments on a needs basis.

The service runs an important out of hours duty system and you will be included in this on a rota basis. There will also be a requirement to work outside traditional working hours from time to time, as and when required.

The Roles include:

  • Producing and presenting detailed analytical assessments and Form F reports of mainstream applicants and Form C reports of connected persons / reg 24 applicants for the Foster Panel evidencing the National Minimum Standards.


  • Supervising and supporting mainstream and connected persons (reg 24) foster carers who are temporarily or fully approved. Through this enabling them to continue to meet the National Minimum Standards.


  • Contributing to recruitment events and marketing activity to increase the number of approved households. Adhering to principals of electronic recording and demonstrate necessary IT skills.

  • Help organise and facilitate support groups and other events for foster carers


  • Working alongside other professionals within the team around the child, contributing to the best outcomes for children in care and ensuring the voice of the child is heard.


  • Supporting and facilitating the provision of training for foster carers including the skills to foster course., As part of our safer recruitment checks the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.


  • All employees will normally be appointed to the minimum of the grade for the job.
