This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and transformational Digital Team. The role requires a good understanding of implementing technology and project management in the health sector.
Hywel Dda University Health Board is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to deliver a new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for the Hywel Dda and Swansea Bay University Health Board Region. The project is part of a wider all Wales programme looking to deliver a single LIMS across Wales with the aim to modernise Pathology across Wales, whilst standardising and streamlining processes to improve quality standards and patient care.
This role will play a large part in ensuring the success of key deliverables within the project. Reporting directly to the Programme Manager you will work closely with key stakeholders, including Pathology Service, IT, Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) and Intersystems (LIMS Supplier) to ensure the success of delivering the project within agreed timescales and budget., The post is within the Digital Services directorate and provide an ideal platform to learn and develop within the NHS and the digital field.
Applications are invited for the post of a Senior Project Manager to join the Digital Innovation & Transformation Team within Hywel Dda to play a pivotal role in the delivery of a key strategic digital projects within the Health Community.
The post holder will be responsible for managing and controlling the delivery of complex digital projects which form part of Digital Response strategic aims and are key to the successful implementation of the Health Board's Strategy., This post demands a wide range of skills and extensive experience including a good understanding of IT technical terminology, and a proven ability to manage complex projects mitigate risks and provide strategic support to investment priorities. An excellent understanding of how IT can support the strategic direction of the Health Board along with the ability to deliver a varied workload, with a proven track record in using a range of IT systems is essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

We are keen to recruit experienced project managers who are passionate about what they do and what to make a difference for patients and our communities. Whilst some knowledge of working within a digital environment is useful it is not essential. We are looking for someone who can work successfully as part of a team but take initiative and lead when appropriate.
The applicant should hold a project management qualification such as APMP or PRINCE2 and have experience of managing multiple projects within a programme or portfolio. They will have excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills and able to use those skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders, organise events or workshops and to ensure initiation and delivery of multiple projects successfully.
