Full Job Description

A SEN Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprentice is required. During your time as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice you will provide support for the learning activities by children on an individual or group basis, under the general direction of the class teacher.

  • Provide direct support for the learning of individual children or groups of children to achieve progress in learning.

  • Making minor alterations to learning activities to make them accessible for a child/children with SEN or small groups of children.

  • Providing feedback, usually verbal, to pupils during learning episodes about the quality of their learning, saying what they have done well and what they need to improve.

  • Support in the implementation of strategies to manage pupil behaviour, including the consistent use of rewards and sanctions, understanding the limits to which they may employ such sanctions.

  • Follow the academy safeguarding policies and raising any safeguarding concerns with the Designated Safeguarding Lead or the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

  • Preparing resources for working with the children you are supporting (under direction of the teacher/SENDCo with time for this).

  • Work in compliance with the codes of conduct, regulations and policies of the academy and its commitment to equal opportunities.

    Communication skills, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Problem solving skills, Presentation skills, Team working, Creative, Initiative, Patience, GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4 or above (Level 2)) Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4 or above (Level 2)) Essential
