Full Job Description

As a result of securing a new client, we're seeking an experienced Personal Injury Claims Handler to join our team in Tamworth, who can deliver outstanding results in claims handling, ensuring our client receives the best possible service and outcomes.
As part of a dedicated team, you'll oversee a portfolio of motor damage, credit hire and injury claims, from initial notification of the claim, through to settlement. You'll be responsible for making decisions on fraud, quantum and liability, including managing cases through litigation.
Effective communication will be a key aspect of your role, as you will be required to liaise with various stakeholders, including clients, brokers, suppliers, claimants, and their representatives. We're looking for proactive and enthusiastic claims handlers, who can build and maintain strong client relationships.
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a portfolio of Motor Damage, Credit Hire and Personal Injury Claims, from initial notification through to settlement

  • Investigating and assessing the validity of claims, gathering all necessary information and evidence.

  • Negotiating settlements and making decisions on liability and settlement amounts

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all claims activities and communications

  • Develop relationships with clients, carriers, and brokers by actively listening to their needs and closely following their priorities and style

  • Actively seek opportunities to resolve claims, including exploring creative alternatives to traditional resolutions, in order to achieve the best possible outcome at the earliest stage

    Good understanding of proactive claims handling

  • Experience of handling motor damage, credit hire and personal injury claims

  • Experience of handling OICP and MOJ Portal Claims

  • Ability to explain complex language in simple terms, either in writing and/or over the phone

  • Attention to detail because you'll need to accurately review and assess claim documentation

  • Empathy and the ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with customers

  • Customer service skills to provide a positive experience for customers throughout

  • Computer literate

  • GCSEs, or equivalent including English and Maths
