NDT Technician

We are looking for a Technical Team Member to join our Wheelshop function at Stoke working within the Non-Destructive Testing team to achieve our weekly production plan.
The successful candidate will have hands on mechanical engineering experience.
Use non-destructive testing methods to confirm the integrity of Railway components in accordance with relevant standards.
Specific testing methods include magnetic particle inspection (MPI) and ultrasonic axle testing (UAT).
Follow recognised procedures, and record passes and failures in line with company policy.
Work under own initiative.
COSHH awareness for all materials and substance use in the overhaul and manufacture of wheel sets.
Reporting of all incidents, accidents, and near misses within the workplace.
Any other requirements deemed necessary to achieve the business objectives.
Company and Site safety Plan and Policy
Ensure all Risk Assessments, COSHH assessments and Standard operating procedures are in date and adhered to.

Mechanical engineering experience
Ability to read and understand technical drawings
Excellent communication skills
Minimum PCN level 1, MPI, pre and in-service inspection, using fixed and portable instillations.
Minimum PCN level 1, UAT, railway maintenance , H1
Experience within a maintenance facility would be an advantage.
