Full Job Description

  • Identify, research and assess prospective funders and their fit with Youth Fed's charitable aims and objectives

  • Manage relationships with high net worth individuals who are motivated to fundraise for youth provision services

  • Utilise existing links and build new relationships to develop fundraising approaches, submit proposals and deliver powerful pitches

  • Support volunteer fundraisers to deliver cultivation and fundraising events to expand Youth Fed's pool of prospects

  • Collaborate with the Operational Delivery team to develop and deliver services and programmes (capital and revenue) that are attractive to funders

  • Support the pitching process to senior decision makers that successfully convert prospects into funders

  • In conjunction with the Operations teams, ensure that criteria for funders are met and regular updates, progress reports and other reporting requirements are submitted to funders

  • Ensure the database and bid pipeline is up to date and the progress of applications are tracked and monitored and interactions with funders are accurately recorded

  • Support the Senior Leadership Team, wider organisation and fundraising groups with their fundraising activity such as providing information and advising on funding best practice., With no existing Youth Centre in Macclesfield, Youth Fed is committed to establishing a safe environment for young people to forge new friendships, explore diverse activities, and acquire valuable skills. Our Space Macclesfield aims to fill the void, providing a hub for local young people to connect, socialise, and receive support. Our Space relies on collaborative efforts with key stakeholders and a Fundraising Group. We are in the early stages of the project and are awaiting a decision on planning permission.     The ideal candidate will have excellent skills and experience fundraising from a range of sources as well as experience working on charity campaigns and projects. Naturally the successful candidate will enjoy working for a charity which aims to benefit the lives of young people., GCSE grades 4-9 (A-C) in English and Maths.

  • At least two years' experience in fundraising or sales, achieving business development value exceeding £100,000 per year.

  • Proficiency in project development and researching and identifying funders/leads.

  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding fundraising/sales targets.

  • Strong networking skills and ability to build sustainable relationships with funders.

  • Excellent IT literacy, including Word, Excel, and databases.

  • Outstanding communication, organisational, and prioritisation skills.

  • Accurate record-keeping, with a keen eye for detail and ability to analyse complex data for proposal development.

  • Self-motivation, high ethical standards, and ability to work with confidential information.

  • Problem-solving skills and proactive, enthusiastic approach.

  • Valid driving license, access to a vehicle, willingness to travel and work flexibly.

    Salary Scale: £28,546.00 - £31,916.00

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
    Location: A mixture of home-working and travel across Youth Fed delivery areas including a project based in Macclesfield

    Youth Fed is a pioneering forward-thinking organisation and needs to secure funding to further develop innovative and user-led intervention services for young people and youth organisations in the North West and beyond. Youth Fed is looking to build on its successful fundraising track record by further developing its supporter base and delivering projects, initially in Macclesfield with potential for other areas longer term.

    Working within the Charity's Fundraising Team, the Major Donor and Corporate Fundraising Officer will generate income through developing links with high net worth individuals, companies and other organisations., The standard working week at Youth Fed is 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday. This role will require some evening and very occasionally weekend work. We are committed to empowering people to work flexibly, allowing people to structure their work around their personal commitments and based around business needs.
