Long Term Teaching Assistant 1:1 Churchtown - Southport

· Recording and reporting pupil's progress to the Teacher

· Establish good working relationships with pupil, acting as a role model

· Help pupils develop confidence, independence and encourage them to learn

· Work with specialist teaching services, medical staff, counsellors and psychologists

· Actively work with pupils towards their individual achievement and objectives and success measures.

· Liaise with parents, carers and guardians when appropriate

· Be aware of and respond appropriately to individual pupil needs ensuring effective interaction

· Provide specific support to pupils dependant upon their individual needs ensuring their safety whilst supporting access to learning activities

· Promote inclusion, self-esteem and independence and acceptance of all pupils

· Provide some clerical/administration support to teacher

· Promote good behaviour and support learner to achieve learning goals

· Appropriately qualified and have relevant skills and experience in working with children

· Adaptable and able to work on their own initiative

· Committed to working in partnership with colleagues, other professionals and families

· Good personal numeracy and literacy skills

· Patience and ability build and maintain stressful relationships with pupils, treat them consistently, with respect and consideration, and demonstrate concern for their development as learners

· Sensitivity and Understanding

· To be able to carry out basic tasks on the computer or hand written

· Confident to work in challenging environments and to manage challenging behaviour

· Non Judgemental, flexible, adaptable, resilient, calm, self motivated and compassionate.,
