Full Job Description

Kingsmead School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant Apprentice. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young people (aged 11-16) and who wants to make a difference to the lives of young people with SEND, and their families.

Under the direction of the SENDCo and classroom Teacher the postholder will support the academic progress and pastoral welfare of students with SEND and SEMH.

You will be supported by an experience team of Teaching Assistants, an Assistant SENDCo and SENDco. We also have two SEND Admin Assistants within the department who are very experienced and able to answer any questions you have.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard
- Functional Skills in English and maths Level 2 if required
- End Point Assessment: Practical workplace observation; Q&A session;
Professional Discussion.
- Blended on/off the job training and location to be confirmed.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- If a vacancy is available, TA or HLTA employment would be considered for the
right candidate after successful completion of the apprenticeship.
