Full Job Description

As the Jaguar BEV Propulsion Lead Engineer, you will be a key part of the new Jaguar team, who together are tasked with re-imagining Jaguar cars as an all-electric, modern luxury brand.

An opportunity exists for you as a talented Propulsion System Lead Engineer to use the principles of Systems Engineering to decompose functional requirements from vehicle attribute to Propulsion hardware (including High Voltage Battery and Electric Drive Unit). You'll get to be the expert for optimal deployment of overall system hardware to enable class leading customer attributes.

The Jaguar Propulsion team is responsible for the delivery and integration of the complete propulsion system, so it is capable of meeting the needs of high performance and efficiency luxury vehicles.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • System functional analysis - carry out a range of analysis and investigations of the customer requirements to define the expected system functionality and their performance targets.

  • Evaluate multiple system design concepts and maintain integrity between the system and its components to arrive at a harmonised solution.

  • System Design Specification - prepare system requirement specifications and developing functional designs, demonstrating how the system satisfies the defined customer requirements.

  • System Integration - Define system logical and physical architecture, operating logic and a system integration plan.

  • Verification and Validation - Support the design and develop system integration tests.

  • Lead cross-functional technical reviews on the systems; balancing commodity responses to deliver the best outcome for the customer and adhere to the defined systems engineering and programme delivery processes.

    Relevant experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment, ideally within the Powertrain sector.

  • Requirements Management.

  • Strong Analytical approach and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience in reporting to senior leadership group and track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills.
