Full Job Description

At 1st Technologies LTD, we are proud of our extensive and dynamic IT hardware inventory. As we continue to grow, we're on the lookout for a detail-oriented, data-driven Inventory Analyst to manage £4m worth of IT hardware. This role is vital in ensuring our inventory remains competitive, profitable, and in sync with market dynamics.

Do you thrive on numbers, spreadsheets, and IT hardware components? If you're a keen analyst, with the ability to dive deep into a catalogue of 10,000+ IT hardware components, this might just be the role for you.

This position is a steppingstone into the commercial core of our company. Join a tight-knit team of 3-4 key employees, who are responsible for monitoring the used IT hardware market. This team is instrumental in analysing supplier product offerings, purchasing systems, and supplying our ecommerce, managed account, and trade sales channels. Additionally, this team is in charge of managing all B2B accounts for trade customers in the industry, leveraging our vast stock and market knowledge to broker equipment deals.

Maintaining a professional and friendly demeanour when dealing with customers and suppliers is paramount, as these relationships are central to our company's growth and long-term development.

Our success stems from our diverse IT hardware inventory. As our Inventory Analyst, you will be at the forefront, ensuring that our inventory matches market dynamics and is optimized for both profitability and efficiency.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with purchasing to provide insights on inventory levels and requirements

  • Utilize historical data and market trends to develop and maintain inventory level planning forecasts

  • Consistently monitor the marketplace and competitor pricing for servers and related systems, proposing adjustments to remain competitive

  • Offer administrative and role-specific support to trade sales and purchasing teams

  • Engage with marketing and product management teams to align product promotions and marketing strategies with inventory priorities

  • Monitor and ensure our products remain visible in search results and online marketplaces

  • Interpret sales data, identifying fast-selling products and pinpointing opportunities to minimize stagnant stock

Excellent software competency (particularly MS Excel data manipulation) and good typing skills (50 WPM)

  • Prior knowledge of IT hardware or a genuine interest and strong aspiration to learn

  • Aptitude for part numbers and analysing large data sets

  • Strong mathematical skills

  • Commercial and strategic insight

  • Proficiency in ERP system/inventory management software such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics

  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for any discrepancies
