Full Job Description

  • To assist with achieving target levels of mortality, Daily liveweight gain, Operational efficiencies on the farm.

  • To maintain high health and safety standards, sharing any updates with your team.

  • Keep accurate records required for EA, RT, GLP, maintain up-to-date information for the company app.

  • To ensure the daily birds requirements for feed, water, straw, ventilation are met.

  • Identify and liaise with other departments regarding issues with birds or equipment on farm.

  • Discuss regularly with team members to ensure consistent flow of information.

  • Carry out evening and weekend checks on site and are responsible arranging alarm call out schedule.

  • To maintain and improve where possible hygiene standards and growing standards.

  • To assist with all general farm duties when necessary.

  • Monitor stock control of farm supplies and place orders of stock as required.

  • Maintain all aspects of company policy on site (as per Company Handbook).

  • To work with staff in a positive manner, ensuring the team is working as safely and efficiently as possible.

  • To carry out any other tasks relating to poultry farming as the company may reasonably require.

  • To comply with customer auditing requirements.

    To be willing to complete an NVQ level 3 in poultry production.

  • A good knowledge of bird rearing principles (stockmanship). To include detailed knowledge of health, welfare, nutrition, health and safety etc. This will all be fully trained to new members of staff.

  • To be able to manage staff so that they work to the best of their abilities.

  • Good knowledge of health and safety protocol and a proactive approach to near miss/accident reporting.

  • An excellent attitude towards developing themselves through learning, knowledge and skills.

  • UK driving license

  • Job Type: Permanent

    Hours per week: 39 Hours per week

    Working Times: Monday to Friday, either a Saturday or Sunday morning and PM checks as required. Shift patterns either 6 on 1 off or 12 on 2 off. This is negotiable.

    Pay Rate: Competitive salary depending on experience.
