Export Freight Forwarding Apprentice DHL GLOBAL FORWARDING (UK) LIMITED

DHL Global Forwarding have an exciting opportunity to join them in Birmingham. The successful candidate will join the Gateway Air & Road Export Team, supporting them with all freight forwarding duties. You will gain a recognised level 3 qualification whilst working full-time. Duties include producing required paperwork & liaising with airlines.

Key Activities:

Duties will include:

• Achieve personal and operational targets and report any problems that may affect performance i.e. prepare paperwork for customs and airlines or monitor inbound/outbound flights and EU Truck planning.


• Ensure shipment procedures are followed according to operational procedures.


• Maintain accurate data on company systems.


• Request materials and services needed to achieve targets.


• Prime function to ensure the accurate completion of Export Air and Road documentation.


• Dealing with the warehouse and external customer queries.


• Matching Export Records for export customs.

Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships English and mathematics minimum requirement is Entry Level 3
Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out regular training
Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop
Identify, track and support 6 hours off the job training activities
Quarterly formal progress review meetings, identifying learning achievements and next steps

Communication skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Problem solving skills, Administrative skills, Team working, GCSE or equivalent 5 GCSE's including Maths and English (Grade A
