Full Job Description

  • Lead your team to create and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for children of 2-5 years

  • Regularly give observe, assess and feedback to upskill the team ad improve standards

  • Continually monitor to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to thrive

  • Plan, oversee, and implement engaging activities that promote children's development in all areas

  • Oversee a key group of children and assess the progress of each child and plan appropriate next steps

  • Collaborate with parents and families to ensure open communication and involvement in their child's education

  • Oversee and maintain a clean and organised classroom environment

  • Adhere all policies and procedures and health and safety regulations

  • Understand child development and communicating with children of different ages.

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead a collaborative team

    We are offering a rare Room Lead opportunity for a qualified Level 3 (or above) candidate to join our team. This post offers an opportunity for an experienced Room Leader to sharpen their skills or a highly skilled Practitioner to step up into their first leadership position. The suitable candidate would be leading a room of 16-24 children and a staff team of 4-6 Practitioners with a range of experience. Ideal applicants must be driven towards continual improvement, foster a love of creative and awe-inspiring education and have an interest in developing a team. You would be supported by a Deputy Room Leader who can oversee the room in your absence and support with day-to-day tasks., Previous experience working with young children and a relevant Level 3 qualification or higher is essential. Previous Room Lead experience is desirable but not essential.


  • A successful candidate will be enthusiastic, empathetic, supportive and always strives to improve. Room Leads have the opportunity to make decisions on how their room operates and will be given autonomy to make their own decisions. Room Leads will be expected to work with their team towards a shared vision vision and goals.,
  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)


  • Experience:
  • Nursery: 2 years (preferred)


  • Language:
  • a good level of English (required)


  • Licence/Certification:
  • Level 3 Early Years Qualification or above (required)

  • previous Room Lead experience (preferred)
