Full Job Description

To work with the Headteacher in all aspects of leadership and management and to take responsibility for managing and developing teaching and learning throughout the school., St Mary's Church of England VC Primary School is looking for a passionate, motivated and inspiring leader to join our fantastic family school as a Deputy Headteacher. St Mary's is an ambitious school, set in the beautiful and picturesque village of Boston Spa. The successful candidate will not only have a vital role to play in supporting the Headteacher in the daily operations but will also contribute significantly to shaping the strategic direction and long term vision of the school.

  • is an exemplary class teacher with a proven track record in school improvement

  • can lead a system and culture of continual improvement and high standards in teaching through coaching, team-teaching and demonstrating excellence

  • will make a significant positive contribution to the Church Ethos of our school

  • has experience of leadership within a primary school setting - year group, phase leader, curriculum lead, SENDCo

  • has a passion for inclusion and the rights of all children to a high-quality education

  • has experience of being a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead or would welcome taking on this role

  • is a dedicated and committed individual who has high expectations of themselves, the staff and the pupils

  • is a team player who can build effective relationships with children, staff, parents and governors

  • will take a leading role in monitoring and evaluating school provision related to raising standards and achievement, Bachelor's (preferred)
