Full Job Description

Our treatment plants and incinerators are at the heart of our business and our Control Room Operators control and monitor everything that goes on at site! We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Control Room Operative to join our team at our Leeds, Knowsley location.

As a Control Room Operative, you will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of our incinerator site. You will be responsible for monitoring and controlling various systems within the facility, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and operational standards.

Working a 12hour shift pattern of 4on 4off (DDNN) average 42 hours per week.,

  • Monitor and operate incinerator equipment from the control room, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to established procedures.

  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and systems to identify any issues or abnormalities, promptly reporting and addressing them as necessary.

  • Respond to alarms and alerts, troubleshoot problems, and implement corrective actions to maintain continuous operation and minimize downtime.

  • Collaborate with onsite personnel to coordinate activities, communicate status updates, and facilitate smooth operations.

  • Maintain accurate records of process parameters, production data, and equipment performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and emergency drills to enhance knowledge and readiness for handling various scenarios.

    Previous experience in a control room or industrial environment, preferably in waste management, energy, or other related field.

  • Familiarity with process control systems, instrumentation, and equipment used in incineration or biosystem operations.

  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a commitment to safety and compliance.

  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
