A vacancy has arisen for a Section Leader - Configuration Management Engineer to join the team based in Derby.

Rolls-Royce is the pioneer of one of the most important technological advances in naval propulsion - the use of nuclear propulsion for the Royal Navy's submarine flotilla. Powering the submarines of today and building solutions for tomorrow has never been more important. As the UK Technical Authority and sole provider for the Nuclear Steam Raising Plant, we manage all aspects of the plant design, safety, manufacture, performance and through-life support. We work closely with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), the Submarines Delivery Agency and the Dreadnought Alliance Partners.

You will be expected to use CM best practice to achieve the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of CM data in the CM tool sets, promote effective use of our data to identify areas for improvement and own the delivery of key CM projects. Your role will include working closely with multiple disciplines and providing a service both with internal and external partners. Support to current and future business improvements / projects will also be part of your role., In this role you will lead a well-motivated team ensuring Class and Boat design intent is in line with critical programme dates.

  • Ownership and management of products within the CM tool set.

  • Manage customer authorisation ensuring all supporting documentation, forms and trackers are accurate.

  • Analyse, Manipulate and interpret complex data sets relating to the product.

  • Support the design teams with all configuration matters and ensure all supporting documentation is correctly aligned to the product definition.

    To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don't currently already have this in place.
