Cleaner

We wish to appoint a Cleaner for daily and periodic cleaning of the school buildings, maintaining a safe environment and a high standard of cleanliness. You will operate some cleaning equipment and will work as part of a small team, managed by the Site Manager and School Business Manager.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, enthusiastic, flexible, and have experience of working in a school environment. They will be reasonably fit and able to carry out some manual handling and lifting. A good health and attendance record is essential, as is the ability to use their initiative to organise and prioritise their work. Knowledge of Health & Safety Procedures such as COSHH would be an advantage, but full training will be given.

Situated in a lovely urban pocket of Derby, Markeaton Primary School is a two storey Edwardian building filled with happy, polite and conscientious children who are enthusiastic about the world around them. We are also an enhanced resource base for Visually Impaired pupils.
