Full Job Description

Wakefield CAMHS are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and resilient Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join their Core Team.

The role will support young people in the locality by offering therapeutic intervention and co-ordinating care alongside. This may involve liaising with other professionals, working alongside Wakefield CAMHS Psychiatry Team and working closely with the teams Team Manager and Clinical Lead.

The role will specifically work with more complex young people, who may have increased risks. The role may also support those young people who are being discharged from inpatient units.

We are looking for a registered professional who has substantial experience of working with children and young people. Additional training in a specific therapy would be beneficial in this role, however further training may be an option.

You would be expected to co-ordinate and prioritise your day-to-day clinical workload, have clinical conversations and risk plan/manage. You would also be expected to support with clinical supervision for Band 4/5/6 staff members in the team.

  • Holding and managing a complex caseload

  • Liaising regularly with professionals

  • Attending professionals meetings

  • Offering therapeutic intervention

  • Completing onward referrals where required

  • Clinically supervising staff members
