Barista & Events Assistant - May Applications 2023

We are looking for a hard-working, dedicated and polite member of staff to join our team at Sir Isaac's Coffee.

Founded in 2020, we have progressed from market stall to coffee shop, offering inside seating alongside our unique takeaway window. We are deeply embedded within the town's community, priding ourselves on our customer service and loyal customer base.

Our presence is not limited to Colchester but is felt across the country thanks to our partaking in external events, including the prestigious Festival as well as more local affairs such as Colchester Pride. Our small team services both shop and events alike, necessarily forming a strong, positive atmosphere within which to work and learn.

About your role . . .

The role is varied and unique, offering the opportunity for work both within the coffee shop and the events that we take part in throughout the year. On the day-to-day in the shop, you will be serving customers both new and regular, taking orders at the till and making their drinks efficiently and courteously.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the shop remains clean and stocked up, using any downtime to ensure that the next rush of customers is prepared for. This becomes even more true at events, where every spare minute is crucial to the smooth running of the event.

What's Next . . .

If successful at this stage, you will be invited to interview. Here, we will look for a team player to then integrate into a busy weekend trial shift. Within the trial shift, we will be looking for good customer service and a hands-on approach as priorities. This is an opportunity to show us what you can bring to the role, so getting involved is crucial.
