Full Job Description

Vehicle Noise Vibration and Harshness is a key technical department within the product creation process, leading the engineering from concept to customer. Working here, you'll give our vehicles their unique characteristics, ensuring the many aspects of refinement required to achieve the customer expectations for all JLR programmes. It is all part of creating vehicles that delight customers and set us apart from the competition.

Your will play a pivotal role within the In-service Performance team to enhance the customer satisfaction by delivering vehicles free from abnormal noise (Squeak & Rattle) and water leaks. Your primary role will be to gather facts to make a clear problem definition, then to employe strong negotiation skills to drive problem resolution using 8D and other quality tools. The Performance team is responsible for issue resolutions that can arise internally through Manufacturing, Fleet users, Durability and Robustness vehicles and externally through warranty and IQS surveys.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, Set objectives and Deliver results against the Business Plan Targets (as set in the Quarterly Business Review)

  • Organise, Collect, Analyse data to understand the failure trends and gather facts to define the problem

  • Pre-plan work, lead Hands on investigation to re-create customer issues on the actual vehicles

  • Create technical reports that will enable relevant areas to implement solutions quickly

  • Produce regular technical reports to team and senior management that showcase your outcomes

  • Good working knowledge backlog refinement in JIRA (inc. Writing Stories and acceptance criteria)

  • Flexibility is required within the role to work where need is the priority (Fleet, FTT, Warranty, D&R and IQS)

  • Undertake any other work as directed by your line manager in connection with company priority

  • Occasional work maybe required in this role to work evenings, weekends and travel to other Jaguar Land Rover or supplier sites from time to time.

  • You'll need to be able to pass a level 3 driving course as well as a Climatic Chamber working where medical pass is required.

    Automotive/Engineering degree or equivalent automotive experience preferred

  • Demonstrate potential to strategise work streams based on the Business Plan

  • Ability to Plan work/Events and organise detailed activity to deliver the outcomes

  • Ability to lead large project/ resolve complex issues through leading cross functional teams

  • Demonstable problem solving experience e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8 Disciplines of problem solving

  • Good experience of quality tools (8D, Fish bone, FTA, PDCA, 5Y etc)

  • Ability to deliver presentations to work groups and senior management

  • A full UK driving licence
