Full Job Description
- Undertake servicing and repairs of lift equipment at various locations on a daily basis performing tasks on electrical and mechanic equipment
- carrying out adjustments of landing locks, landing doors, cleaning of the door tracks and also making sure all lubrication points are also serviced
- checking wiring connections and fault diagnosis
- liaising with customers
- The Apprentice will achieve Level 3 Lift and Escalator Electro-mechanic Apprenticeship Standard (Lift Service / Repair pathway) which includes mandatory completion of the L3 QCF NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance (Lift Service or repair)
- The Apprentice would also do a Lift Certificate and study lift specific distance learning units with Uni of Northampton (Fundamentals of Lifts Tech and Electrics and Mechanics) which would mean virtual college attendance approximately one day per fortnight for one academic year out of the 3 year Apprenticeship.
- On commencement the Apprentice would attend 2 days training to cover hand tooling and electrical safety, Once qualified the Apprentice will become a Lift Maintenance Engineer and beyond that there is the oportunity to progress to Lead Engineer, Senior Engineer or Technician and completed a level 4 qualification.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
Minimum Wage Rates
