Full Job Description

Northamptonshire County Golf Club in Northampton are looking to recruit an Apprentice Golf greenkeeper to assist in the day-to-day set up and maintenance of the course, all the related practice facilities and planted areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with a keen interest in golf and greenkeeping.

  • Maintaining both courses to a high standard expected by its membership

  • Once trained the candidate would be expected to be able to mow greens and other surfaces

  • Topdressing and treating turf

  • Seeding

  • Renovating and maintaining bunkers

  • Maintaining practice area

  • Servicing machinery and general maintenance work


  • The training you will be getting

    Training will be provided in the workplace through Myerscough College where you will work towards the Golf Greenkeeper Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard.

    The apprenticeship is made up of a number of different nationally recognised qualifications which are as follows:

    · City & Guilds Certificate in Golf Greenkeeping

    · The qualification is made up of a number of mandatory units designed to have maximum relevance to the job & integrate with day to day responsibilities.

    Northamptonshire County Golf Club is a private members club founded in 1909. Ranked No 1 in Northamptonshire, a Top 100 course in England. For many years now the course has been used as a regional open qualifying venue and has staged the British Girls Open Tournament and recently the PGA Seniors Club Professional Championship.
