Test Analyst

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Test Analyst to join our IT Development Team, based at our Skipton office on a permanent basis. Whilst this is predominantly remote working, there will be a requirement to travel to the Skipton office approximately two to three times per month and for the occasional event. Therefore, you will need to be within a reasonable commute of this office.

You would be joining us at a period of significant change where there will be opportunity to get involved in some exciting projects. You will be able to impart your knowledge but also further hone your skill set and develop yourself further.

A role you will love
Reporting into the Development Manager, day to day you will be required to gather feedback in order to clarify and understand requirements. You have the ability to be able to easily translate business requirements into clearly-defined test scenarios to allow you to support development.
The role will see you use your technical expertise to support and coach other members of the team but to also influence and define the test approach. Stakeholder engagement is incredibly important, providing them with feedback to enable them to make informed decisions.

Key roles and responsibilities, include, but are not limited to;

• Translate business requirements into clearly-defined test scenarios in order to support development.



• Apply technical knowledge and expertise to influence/define the test approach in order to mitigate the risk of change.



• Provide continual feedback on product quality to the team and stakeholders to enable them to make informed decisions.
  
  If you are an experienced Test Analyst with a passion for improving the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of software delivery then we want to hear from you.

You will demonstrate a strong work ethic with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships. Quality should be of the utmost importance as well as having a keen eye for detail and the capability to deal with at times conflicting priorities.
Other skills and experience required includes:

• Experience of using test design techniques


• Working knowledge of exploratory testing


• Basis scripting, database and query skills


• Good understanding of test environments, quality gateways and the route to production


• Experience or an appreciation of Agile practices in order to facilitate incremental delivery


• Experience of working within Financial Services or a similar industry
