Full Job Description

As an SEO Account Manager you'll be responsible for managing numerous client accounts mainly in B2B with some B2C. You'll be the main day to day contact for your clients, building strong relationships will be a key factor of this role with great communication being essential.

You'll be responsible for a variety of tasks supported by other team members.

  • Conducting scoping, milestone and ad hoc meetings with clients, developers, designers and senior management to develop and maintain SMART return on investment objectives and improve clients' website profiles on search engines, with/for clients and company.

  • Deliver and report KPI performance for clients as per agreed package schedule either face to face, email or telephone and proactively drive activity and team objectives, with a focus on client retention.

  • Support our SEO strategy and campaign execution across all major search engines, primarily Google.

  • Drive SEO research, planning and execution across the key areas of technical, content and potential linking/outreach.

  • Maintain strong relations with our internal teams including Digital Marketing & Studio.

  • Share responsibilities for promoting ongoing internal learning in the form of Digital Marketing training/peer-to-peer learning in areas that require improvement for oneself and others, in a positive way and provide guidance to and inspire the SEM team through mentoring and coaching.

  • Deliver industry leading insights, analysis & content strategies.

  • Ensure that SEO best practices are implemented on current and new developments.

  • Provide tracking, reporting and analysis of performance campaign data from SEO campaigns and strategies.

  • On an ongoing basis provide comprehensive keyword analysis, research and monitoring using tools such as SEMRush, Google Analytics, Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Screaming Frog and more.

  • Support the maintenance of our own website from an SEO technical standpoint.

  • Liaise with relevant team members to ensure work is prioritised, completed and appropriately reported.

  • Organise training sessions with team members across the business to educate and showcase the value the technical changes are having on performance.

  • Reviewing competitor technical SEO activity.


  • Key Accountabilities
  • Proactively managing and building client relationships in line with client retention KPIs

  • Setting SMART objectives with clients to achieve results through data driven strategies ensuring ROI being achieved for every client


  • Technical Delivery
  • Perform, mentor and advise on website launches, migrations, redirects and 3rd party applications (redirect strategies, content migration, crawl-budget optimisation) to support the digital marketing team and wider project(s) teams and clients.

  • Carry out site audits for clients (content, technical, link profile) and make recommendations for optimising the site.

  • Use a range of software and contribute to solving ways to automate processes, generate insight(s) and problem solve for the client.

  • Pre and post live technical audits.

  • Expanded keyword research, content plans and mapping.

  • Audits - UX/Backlink/Sitemap/URL Architecture.

  • GA4 setup and configuration.

  • On-page recommendations and implementation.

  • Management of multiple client relationships.

  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, PHP and CMS (desirable).

  • Experience of working in a Digital Agency (minimum 2 years experience)

  • Experience and knowledge of multilingual SEO (desirable).

  • Familiarity with WordPress, SEMRush, ScreamingFrog, SEO: 3 years (required)
