Full Job Description

We're looking for a Rewilding Delivery Manager to lead our on the ground delivery of a wilder future for Derbyshire.

Joining our Wild Solutions team, you'll drive the growth of our land and habitat management enterprise, through developing our commercial land management contracts for our own sites and for those of our external partners.

In this role, you'll lead on identifying what our clients need and coordinate the resources required to do it. Do we need to fly materials onto site? Bring in a 12 tonne excavator? Work on a boat? We need you to be solutions focussed to identify how to reinstate natural processes in a way that is sustainable for The Trust and the landowners.

You'll deliver competitive and expanding rewilding contracts across the county, utilising both our internal team and recruiting external contractors when appropriate. You'll be confident in establishing and growing great relationships with clients and working up small and large job specifications and quotes.

To be successful you will have a robust understanding of a range of land and habitat management techniques, with a strong emphasis on working with natural processes, including animals, and a nature-based approach. You'll have a commercial mind and have strong people and communication skills. You'll have a passion for commercially sustainable rewilding and the ability to motivate a team and our clients to achieve our vision of a wilder Derbyshire.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Growing and developing our programme of rewilding delivery, including budgeting and business growth planning.

  • Managing and developing our rewilding delivery team, identifying skill and recruitment gaps.

  • Providing work specifications and quotes for a range of land management contracts, including significant scale contracts.

  • Ensuring all contracts are delivered in adherence to relevant policies and procedures (e.g. Health and Safety, Environmental, CDM).

  • Ensuring the delivery of practical land management contracts, on time and on budget.
