Full Job Description

We are looking for a research assistant to join the dementia group within the Centre for Preventive Neurology (CPN). The post-holder will be expected to work on a major project funded by NIHR to evaluate the utility of digital auditory biomarkers to support the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and stratification of patients with mild cognitive disorder in NHS memory clinics. They will be expected to assist with all aspects of the study, including study coordination, recruitment, sample acquisition and analysis, data entry, and basic data analysis/quality control.

Candidates must have a good degree (First or Upper Second) in a science subject and a broad understanding of the research process. The ideal candidate will also have familiarity with Good Clinical Practice and the regulations around data protection and security. Experience of working with patients and clinical research data would be advantageous.

The Centre for Preventive Neurology is at the forefront of international research and brings together an expert team to carry out revolutionary new research into Dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease. The centre's focus is on academic discipline, research, the translation of research into health strategies and their practical implementation - all dedicated to the reduction of disease and disability.

Salary: £36,572 - £37,182 (depending on experience) per annum, inclusive of London Allowance (Grade 4), In return, we offer 30 days' leave per annum, access to a pension scheme, a season ticket loan scheme and competitive salaries. The post is based in Charterhouse Square. It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 12 months. The salary will be Grade 4 at £36,572 - £37,182 (depending on experience) per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
