Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a Ready to Learn Room Supervisor to play a lead role in ensuring exemplary standards of behaviour for learning at Hanley Castle High School by managing the Ready to Learn Room. This room is used to give reflection time and time out to those students who are not meeting the very high expectations of conduct in the classroom. The successful candidate will create a calm, positive, purposeful, and orderly environment where students can re-establish appropriate behaviour for learning following removal from a lesson.

This role would suit an individual with experience of working in a behaviour focused role either in education or another similar setting and experience managing situations that may involve de-escalation. In addition, proven success working with and motivating young people is essential.

Hanley Castle is a dynamic and pleasantly situated high performing Academy, which is justifiably proud of its local and national reputation for academic excellence.

Founded in 1326, the school provides a unique blend of academic rigour, modern facilities and traditional values. The school is heavily oversubscribed and our Sixth Form is flourishing.

Hanley Castle High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and as such expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake pre-employment checks including an Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
