Full Job Description

To inspect incoming products against engineering drawings ensuring that all dimensional, material and quality standards are met and sent into stores/production correct. Assisting and updating suppliers on corrective actions to keep rejection rates at a minimum. Working within the Quality team on inspection priority lists and adding continual support on improvements. To carry out inspection on suppliers site when required., · Ensure that appropriate inspection is conducted on all incoming manufactured and purchased components, specifically ensuring that they meet the requirements of the purchase order and referenced specifications to drawing.

· Management of components/products using the IBS system including records for traceability.

· Generation of First Article Inspection Reports as required.

· Processing components post-inspection and dependant on outcome, reject and return to supplier.

· Inspection and evaluation of equipment returned from customer sites for examination and rectification.

· Maintain/calibrate production and inspection equipment relating to quality activities i.e. test weights, jigs, fixtures and test apparatus.

· Identify, record and report Quality concerns, liaising with suppliers to resolve quality issues, including sited visits.

· Contact and support suppliers directly to deal with quality issues.

· To support goods in and carry out booking in of deliveries when required.

· Flexibility along with a positive attitude.

· A good decision maker.

· 4 years' experience in a light to medium engineering company working in a quality assurance role.

· Be competent with all inspection tooling.

· Able to read and understand manufacturing drawings.

· Computer literate, able to use standard office software.

· Familiar with operation of manufacturing, purchasing and engineering design departments.

  • Creditable and able to liaise confidently/professionally with colleagues and external suppliers.

  • Ability to motivate self and work as part of a team.

  • Great verbal and written communication skills at all levels.


  • DESIRABLE SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:

    · A good working understanding of engineering / ISO standards and specifications relating to purchased and manufactured parts.

    · FARO arm experience.

    · Forklift Licence.

    · Full UK Driving License
