Full Job Description

The successful Quality Control Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Management of Internal QMS against ISO9001:2015 chairing annual surveillance/re-certification audits.


  • Maintenance of all Quality documentation ensuring periodic reviews.

  • Raising 8D Corrective action reports.

  • Work with colleagues & suppliers to facilitate root cause analysis & Quality improvement plans.

  • Manage Supplier Quality ensuring relevant metrics/data is communicated monthly in the form of KPI's.

  • Liaise and communicate with other departments, suppliers and other service providers


  • The successful candidate will need to have the following skills

  • Experience within Supplier Quality & Control Engineering

  • Knowledge / ability to use the following quality tools -

  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)

  • Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

  • Gage Repeatability & reproducibility (GR&R)

  • Failure Mode Effects & Analysis (FMEA)

  • Eight disciplines of problem solving (8D)

  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

  • Six Sigma

  • Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

  • First Article Inspection (FAI)


  • Understanding manufacturing processes & using FMEA to make improvements.


  • Understanding / ability to read engineering drawings

  • Planning and prioritising activities and an ability to operate with a level of autonomy

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to report to senior management

  • Excellent listening skills

  • Ability to present data accurately and effectively

  • Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent and/or recognised would be preferred


  • Lead auditor qualification would be preferred.

  • Quality Management qualification, Certificate of Higher Education (preferred)
