Join our team of next generation thinkers! As a Propulsion Attributes Benchmarking Engineer, you will be responsible for gathering competitor intelligence from multiple sources, and evaluating the propulsion attributes and features of JLR competitors' products. The scope of work includes activities such as tests execution on track and on the road, features assessment, interpretation and decoding of data, analysis of results, collation of public domain data and futuring. All the activities will contribute to gathering data-backed intelligence on competitors' products. Propulsion Attributes Benchmarking Engineer works alongside Performance, Efficiency and Charging Attribute Engineers, in a collaborative and diverse environment.

This is a role with a wide scope, across different powertrains and electrification levels, requiring driving, planning and data analysis skills, to execute high speed and dynamic tests on proving ground and process the results. You will be instrumental in shaping and form the DNA of our products.

The successful candidate should be comfortable operating under fluid and tight deadlines. You will contribute to ensuring that the wider business and other attribute teams are fully engaged and aligned to deliver the Reimagine mindset across our product range.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities will include, booking test vehicles and facilities, plan tests, the setup of test vehicles, ensuring instrumentation works and signals are logged correctly, and executing physical tests to evaluate Performance, Efficiency, Driveability and Charging attributes. You will also troubleshoot and feed back on vehicle and measurement toolchain, process and visualise test data using the tools provided, and support toolset improvement, evaluate and log the behaviour of propulsion features, and produce test reports. You will research and collate public domain data, and process it to infer competitors' future trends and perform unscheduled and urgent test requests.

  • Experience in vehicle testing, including high voltage systems, high speed and dynamic testing.

  • Experience in test data acquisition and analysis, and associated toolchain.

  • Driving License (with less than 7 live penalty points)
