  • Central to the successful fulfilment of organisational missions, the Product Development Scientist role is of paramount importance. The successful candidate will use their innovative mind, methodical approach, and problem-solving skills to develop & improve manufacturing systems and our nutraceutical product range.,
  • Lead product development initiatives in accordance with regulatory requirements within the nutraceutical industry.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful product development and commercialisation.

  • Conduct Verification & Validation studies, optimise processes for efficient production transfer, and maintain regulatory documentation.

  • Design, execute, and analyse laboratory experiments to support product development activities.

  • Perform risk assessment and mitigation strategies for product design, usability, and safety.

  • Oversee process verification and validation activities, including design transfer to GMP manufacturing. Manage process to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Generate key process parameters to ensure quality is maintained during large-scale production, artwork approvals, and writing technical specifications to verify & validate product quality & authenticity.

  • Develop statistical sampling plans and testing protocols to ensure product quality and performance.

  • Review, assess, and revalidate quality assurance and regulatory affairs documents.

  • Investigate root causes of manufacturing issues and non-conformities, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as needed.

  • Provide scientific support to key stakeholders to drive business growth.


  • Working within this role, your scientific expertise will shape both product & process development. You will be empowered to optimise the performance of manufacturing systems by developing processes for product manufacture and implementing process controls to ensure products are of the highest quality and produced in a way that can be accurately replicated.,
  • Located in Hemswell Cliff, Lincolnshire - we are commutable from Lincoln, Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Gainsborough, & Doncaster areas.

    Successful applicants will have a commercial acumen and an awareness of the business value of work undertaken, be self-motivated with an enthusiasm to innovative & investigate with a robust commitment to analytical assessment., A degree (or equivalent field qualification) in a Food Science, Nutrition Science, Food Engineering, or related science degree.

  • Relevant experience in the food, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Understanding of food manufacturing legislation & HACCP.

  • Knowledge and experience with Design of Experiment (DOE) techniques.

  • Knowledge and practical experience with powder blending, tablet, capsule, softgels, and gummy manufacturing, and packaging formats.

  • Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of Product Data Management software.

  • The ability to work with multiple discipline projects with excellent project management skills.

  • Excellent organisational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.

  • Dynamic thinking and problem-solving abilities with the ability to think strategically using initiative and confidence.

  • A people centric person who can swiftly build & develop a professional rapport with all stakeholders.
