Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity for group facilitator has arisen within the Community Transformation Therapies - Group Work Team; employed by Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The Community Transformation Programme, Leeds, aims to support the national priority of increasing access to psychological therapy, psychologically informed care and reducing inequality. As part of supporting service user recovery an innovative groupwork programme is being provided. We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to become part of the group work team. Successful applicants will co-facilitate a range of psychoeducational, skills based & therapeutic groups with adults experiencing emotional distress across Leeds. Previous experience of group work, a good working knowledge of group process, training in a structured group model are all highly desirable but not essential as training will be given.

+ Triage, screening & assessment of service users for group work.
+ Co-facilitating a range of therapeutic groups.
+ Relevant individual work with users of the community transformation therapies service.
+ Attending relevant training.
+ Engaging in regular clinical supervision/consultation group.
+ Working in partnership with other organisations across the city.
+ Developing materials and resources
+ Project work.
+ Contributing to evaluation of the interventions.
+ Using multiple Electronic Patient Record Platforms., This role will involve the co-facilitation of structured therapeutic groups. We currently offer a range of groups including DBT based groups, trauma stabilisation groups, Occupational Therapy based groups (including Journey at EMERGE Leeds) and Wellness recovery Action Planning (WRAP) groups. Further groups will be developed In line with the aims of community transformation.

You will be passionate about the power of working using the group model with people who have who may have experienced trauma, stigma, discrimination and/or marginalisation. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to form strong therapeutic and professional relationships. A willingness and ability to reflect on your own experiences in relation to group processes in supervision, good self-care and the ability to be adaptable is as important to us as any qualification you may hold. As is a commitment to managing your own emotional well-being.

This is a hybrid post working both from home and from a base in Leeds. We aim to use community assets and so face to face group work could be at multiple venues across Leeds. This is a permanent contract working full time hours, 37.5 hours per week.
