Full Job Description

Join ICL at Teesdock as a Maintenance Engineering Planner where you will be responsible for developing plans and working schedules for a designated area to deliver maintenance efficiently and safely. You will apply a proactive approach to organise and resource work, ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and company procedures. You will monitor and report on maintenance performance, provide technical expertise, and actively contribute to improving maintenance effectiveness and efficiency.

The main responsibilities will be:

  • Plan and prepare work detail ensuring availability of labor, spares, tools, and equipment.

  • Identify critical steps in work methods and make decisions to ensure safe and efficient production.

  • Develop Risk Assessments for planned activities and ensure all safety aspects are managed within work packs.

  • Manage work activities, considering critical aspects such as parts availability, third-party repairs, and human resource management.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and produce detailed job-work packs.

  • Develop task work specification packs, prepare maintenance tasks for execution, and review risk assessments.

  • Utilise the company's Computerised Maintenance Management System (SAP) and maintain accurate records.

  • Develop and execute maintenance plans, manage job backlog, and execute external service hire.

  • Communicate plans and schedules effectively, liaise with vendors/contractors, and provide feedback to management.

  • Access and use relevant systems and tools for information management.

  • Review work schedules and costs, ensuring cost-effective management of work.

    Time served craftsperson with several years' experience in heavy industry.

  • Proficient in relevant Health & Safety legislation such as HASWA 1974, PUWER, LOLER etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to break down tasks logically, ensuring timely delivery.

  • Proficient in PC skills, including SAP PM, Microsoft Project, and Excel.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Experience in supervising internal and external work teams.

  • History of working with external suppliers and developing work and supply specifications.

  • Familiarity with Operational Excellence and lean techniques.

  • IOSH Managing Safety certification (Preferable).
