As an Immigration Solicitor/Fee Earner, your role involves advising clients on various aspects of immigration law. Here are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this position:

  • Responsibilities:

  • Advising Clients: You'll provide legal advice to clients on immigration matters, including visa applications, entry clearance, residency, nationality, and asylum claims.

  • Business Immigration: Handling business-related immigration cases, such as Tier 1 entrepreneur visas, sponsor license applications, and intra-company transfers.

  • Compliance Assistance: Assisting corporate clients with immigration compliance, including right-to-work checks and sponsor duties.

  • Representation: Representing clients in immigration appeals and judicial reviews before the First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) and Upper Tribunal.

  • EU Law Guidance: Providing legal guidance on European Union law, including applications under the EU Settlement Scheme.

  • Legal Research: Conducting legal research and staying updated with changes in immigration rules and regulations.

  • Document Drafting: Drafting legal documents, including visa applications, appeals, witness statements, and legal submissions.

  • Client Relationships: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, immigration authorities, and external stakeholders.

  • Collaboration: Collaborating with colleagues and immigration consultants to deliver comprehensive and effective immigration services.

    Qualified Solicitor: You must hold a valid practicing certificate in England and Wales.

  • Experience: Proven experience in immigration law, with a focus on business immigration and asylum cases.

  • Knowledge: Sound understanding of UK immigration rules, policies, and procedures.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.

  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, paying attention to detail.

  • Independence: Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload efficiently.
