The Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (ABIRS) Dorset provides specialist rehabilitation for patients with complex difficulties following an acquired brain injury. Our team of highly specialist and experienced staff includes a Rehabilitation Medicine Consultant, Clinical/Neuropsychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapist and Rehabilitation Assistants. The team applies a fully integrated multidisciplinary approach to offer individualised rehabilitation programmes so that people with severe brain injury can achieve their best outcomes possible.
ABIRS offers supportive supervision and regular in-service education opportunities. This is a brilliant opportunity for a highly experienced Neuro-Physiotherapist keen to develop their career in a specialist area of rehabilitation.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check., We are currently looking for a Highly Specialist Physiotherapist to join our service in the community. The post holder will play a central role in the comprehensive rehabilitation of patients by providing innovative and evidence-based assessments and rehabilitation programmes for individuals and small groups of patients and carers. The post holder will use a patient centred goal setting approach, working closely with the multi disciplinary team, in patient brain injury rehab colleagues and other specialist teams. The post holder will also be required to offer a specialist consultation service to other professionals, staff supervision and there will be the opportunity for leading/ engaging in Quality Improvement initiatives. Experience in Vestibular Rehabilitation is desirable or the willingness to develop specialist skills in this area.
