Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an HGV Instructor to join our team. This position is a full-time role, working 7.45am to 4.45 pm - 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, based in Middleton, Greater Manchester., This position is perfect for someone who is an experienced HGV Driving Instructor.

As an HGV instructor you will be part of a team, training candidates to DVSA test standard, carrying out practical driving assessments and delivering relevant course training materials with a high degree of detail.

You will be expected to contribute to continuous improvement within the department and be required to update your skills periodically.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake relevant training qualifications and personal development, keeping up to date on sector and company related developments.

You will need to maintain a high standard of professionalism and flexibility at all times.

Your duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Instructing candidates to test standards on relevant vehicles (i.e. C, C+E)

  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks on training vehicles

  • Carry out driver assessments prior to learning.

  • Programme development, including the improvement and development of HGV schemes of Work

  • Develop excellent communication links with other departments.

  • To deliver JAUPT Accredited Driver CPC courses.

  • To deliver, facilitate and teach HGV driver training to DVSA driving test standard.

  • To implement, maintain and improve the quality of our training and assessment in keeping with the high standards demanded by Mantra Learning Ltd and the relevant awarding bodies.

  • To work closely with the HGV/Skills Manager to implement new opportunities associated with skills courses.

    Qualifications

  • Cat C licence held for a minimum of 3 years

  • Experience as an HGV driving Instructor and a passion to teach people who want to enter the profession

  • Understanding of DVSA requirements

  • Experience of HGV Instruction to DVSA Test Standard

  • To have 1st class HGV driving skills

    HGV Instructor - £26,666 per annum + £2k per annum retention bonus + circa £1k pass bonus per annum OTE, working 7.45am - 4.45 pm - Monday to Friday (40 hours a week), £25,584.00 per annum (40 hours a week contract) + £2k per annum retention bonus + circa £1k pass bonus per annum OTE
