Head of Operational Security & Resilience

Seeking a dynamic and versatile individual with demonstrated leadership skills to lead our Operational Security and Resilience team. This role, situated in the Civil Nuclear sector, involves overseeing the transportation of nuclear materials via rail, road, and sea, both domestically and internationally. The position offers a diverse range of challenges and gratifying experiences. Extensive travel, both within the UK and abroad, is integral to the role. Candidates should possess leadership experience, ideally within civil nuclear security or emergency response disciplines, although similar expertise in other regulated sectors is advantageous.

To deliver world class leadership and international SME in the development of enterprise-wide Operational Security and Resilience arrangements, inclusive of emergency preparedness and response, crisis management and business continuity, for the Division (rail, marine, solutions and functional support) in line with its business, customer and regulatory requirements. To lead, develop and embed the SAR business management interface arrangements for the Division (rail, marine, solutions and functional support) to ensure a coordinated approach to SAR & ICT services and delivery. To support the Director SAR & ICT in the leadership and management of the function and to contribute to the success of the Division through wider Senior Management engagement.

Experience

• Leading the delivery of corporate security and resilience arrangements within the nuclear or highly regulated transports (e.g., dangerous goods, critical national infrastructure)


• Leading the delivery of business operational security and resilience arrangements within the nuclear or highly regulated environment (e.g., dangerous good, critical national infrastructure)


• Leading the delivery of business continuity arrangements within a multi-discipline organisation


• Developing high performing teams


• Managing complex regulatory and stakeholder relationships


• Planning, training and responding to major incidents or business continuity events


• Responding to major nuclear safety/security incidents at a strategic/tactical level


• Working and coordinating arrangements with other stakeholders/occupants


• Working with regulators/stakeholders in highly regulated environment
