Full Job Description

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a critical role in the development of the business as it continues to scale. It provides a motivated individual with an ideal opportunity to grow with the business during its next phase as well as providing exposure to the private equity environment., The role will require working from our Nottingham office 2 days per week to spend time with some of the key members of the finance team. Travel to other sites in the UK, and our Birmingham office, where the CFO is based, will also be required, blended with home working as required. We are flexible on work patterns subject to ensuring core days are spent with the team., This is a new role which will have over-arching responsibility for implementing and maintaining the financial control environment for the business as it grows, working with direct reports who currently manage function specific processes and controls.

The GFC will work closely with the Head of FP&A supporting each other on day-to-day activities and projects as required.

Processes and controls exist across the business, and we have recently implemented 'OneAir' processes to align these across the acquired business units. The GFC role will be responsible for working with the functional teams to ensure these processes continue to be fit for purpose to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data held in our financial systems, the foundation for our KPI and financial reporting.

We have a project in place to migrate the financials of the business across to Business Central (Microsoft platform) which we expect to complete this year, which will provide a platform for scale and improving the quality of financial information across the business.

Must Have:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

  • At least 5 years PQE outside of practice

  • Proven experience in a similar role

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Positive and 'can-do' approach to work

  • Previous experience of systems migration projects

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to challenge and change business processes.


  • Desirable:

    Experience of working withing IT MSP's or resource-based business units
    Experience of Business Central and / or ConnectWise
