Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for General Manager forSurgery, Perioperative Medicine & Critical Care Division at Whipps Cross Hospital.This is a key position within the Division's management structure. Reporting to the Divisional Manager, the General Manager will be responsiblefor operational and performance management for the Division.

The post holder will co-ordinate the operational delivery of all responsible services and ensure the safe and effective use of all resources. Specifically, to take a lead in achieving key performance targets in line with local and nationalagreements.

Working in partnership with the divisional leadership team, the post holder will be a key operational leader in the implementation of the surgical strategy, including the development and enablement of high-volume low complexity surgical hubs. In partnership with the Senior Divisional Team, take operational management responsibility the delivery of elective activity and cost improvementplans.Provide senior leadership and overall general management for Barts Health NHS Trust, working in close collaboration with the Divisional Directors and Directors., · Responsible for operational and performance management for surgery, perioperative medicine and critical care delivered at the Whipps Cross Hospital

· Co-ordinate the operational delivery of all responsible services and ensure the safe and effective use of all resources. Specifically to take a lead in achieving key performance targets in line with local and nationalagreements.

· In partnership with the divisional leadership team, be a key operational leader in the implementation of the surgical strategy, including the development and enablement of high volume low complexity surgical hubs

· In partnership with the Clinical Director and Senior Nurses, take operational management responsibility - with the specialty Lead Clinicians, Operational Managers and Heads of Department within the Service Groups - for the delivery of Cost ImprovementProgram.

· Provide senior leadership and overall general management for Barts Health NHS Trust, working in close collaboration with the Divisional Directors and Directors. To work with the Clinical Directors and Heads of Department to ensure the development of staff and services, in conjunction with a wide range of partnerorganizations.

· Support the clinical and managerial leadership, delivering a range of outcomes, ensuring that fundamental and underlying activities to organizational success areachieved.
