Full Job Description

  • We are seeking a Finance Operations Manager to lead the management of the finance operations activity on behalf of Freshwave;

  • including ownership of the processes and management of an outsourced provider. The role requires the development of effective interfaces into Freshwave management;


  • operational and change teams to manage and continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes. The scope includes invoicing / receivables, payables and working capital management.

    Annual spend of £40m+ pa, revenue of £20m+ in a business that is scaling and growing.

    An interim is required for this position as the processes are still changing and evolving (given the growth the business is experiencing).

    The target end state is not yet clear and the role holder will be part of the team scoping and implementing the required change., Accountable for purchase ledger, supplier payments, accounts receivable, billing, credit control, staff expenses, bank reconciliations and supplier / customer statements.

    The role is the main point of contact for operational finance issues internally and for customers / suppliers.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of transactions are processed to the agreed internal SLAs.

  • Manage outsourced provider and lead on outsourcing of additional processes, including definition of scope and KPIs

  • Identify areas of process and procedures weakness, understand the root cause and implement improvements; standardise finance processes across different parts of the business

  • Engage with business on process change, process compliance and ad hoc queries relating to finance operations.

  • Collaborate with business to ensure all changes (new suppliers, customers, changes to billing) are accurately captured by finance operations, and improve processes as necessary.

  • Ensure robust internal controls are in place across all finance operations.

  • Work closely with team managers and IT to coordinate and plan system / process change ensuring adequate testing / user acceptance before going live.

  • Experience in AR, AP and credit control, ideally using D365 F&O

  • Experience in process improvement design and implementation, and delivering business change

  • Experience of managing an outsourced provider / team

  • Ability to build relationships with the wider business and be able to explain finance to non-finance colleagues
