Full Job Description
- Processing purchase ledger including assisting with raising purchase orders.
- Supplier reconciliations and handling supplier queries.
- Assisting and overseeing general finance admin, record keeping and filing
- Assisting with administration of floats to staff and volunteers
- Assisting and oversight of weekly cash counting process including taking a lead role in addressing any issues
- Processing monthly stock updates (changes in physical stock and updating records on the accounting system)
- Assisting with standard journals
- Assisting Finance Manager with year-end preparations
- Proactively identify processes that could be improved and participate in their development

Some flexibility in this role will be expected to support other tasks as requested by your line manager particularly where workload allows time to compliment work on the taught course to aid understanding and development of apprentice practically.
The training you will be getting
You will complete a Level 2 Accounts or Finance Assistant Apprenticeship through South Hampshire College Group which has sites in Fareham and Eastleigh (Southampton).
Formal training at the College will be by day release, one day a week. Example of mandatory qualification: AAT level 2 or equivalent
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
You could work as a Finance Assistant or Administrator after achieving this Level 2 Apprenticeship.
The organisation may consider supporting you to continue in your apprenticeship qualification and achieve a Level 3 Accountant Assistant Apprenticeship after successful completion of your Level 2 Apprenticeship.
If you continue with your qualifications and work experience you could achieve a career as a Finance Officer or Finance Manager in the future.
Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Problem solving skills, Administrative skills, Number skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, GCSE or equivalent Mathematics (Grade 5) Desired, Your role will be office based and involve working in a small team. You must be able to get to the office at F4, Adanac Drive, Adanac Park, Nursling, Southampton, SO16 0BT reliably by 9am each working day and attend college on all required days. We expect all members of the team to be hard working, positive and reliable team players.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced Critical Care Team to sick and injured people in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight when they need it most. Available both day and night, 365 days a year, the Air Ambulance Critical Care Team is called out many times a day to attend road traffic collisions, sporting accidents, collapses and many other incidents.
