Finance Analyst

Fully woven into the DNA of M&S, our Finance team plays a fundamental role in setting the pace for our key business decisions, shaping our budgets, analysing our sales, managing costs and making sure our most vital statistics and data are absolutely accurate. Within the Salford Quays Finance Service Centre, we are moving beyond a shared service centre; we play a critical part in the M&S 'One Finance Team' and are heading towards our ambition to become a centre of excellence - there's never been a better time to be part of our team!

Reporting to the Finance Manager - Food, you will be part of a robust team in a fast-paced shared service environment where passion, creativity and excellence are key. You will demonstrate a good understanding of the M&S transactional accounting processes, end to end financial control requirements and a commercial mentality.

Partnering remotely with the Central Finance team, you will need to build strong and trusted partnerships with the Finance Managers in both commercial and FP&A and their respective teams. Providing insightful financial analysis and demonstrate a profit-centric mentality in order to maximise business performance, optimise spend, minimise costs and drive profit.

• Vendor funded promotion, analysis and reporting, end to end management of the same.


• ECAN Promotional monthly processing and preparation of rebates due to M&S


• Commercial contract management of VFP & ECAN promo activities


• Delivering a combination of regular and ad-hoc financial reporting information to inform commercial decision making


• Preparation, submission and analysis of monthly reporting, working closely with senior business partners in London
  
  A strong accounting background with previous experience of working in a fast paced environment - Qualified or Part (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)


• Strong communication skills and commercial awareness


• Strong business partner management skills with the ability to build relationships and influence


• Strong analytical capabilities, comfortable working with and accurately manipulating data to provide accurate and insightful reporting


• Can deliver to agreed timeframes and effectively prioritise workload with a flexible and proactive approach
