Environmental & Propulsion Engineer

Join the Technical Conformity - Test Operations team as the Environmental and Propulsion Test Engineer where you'll be delivering test solutions for Bentley Motors for all functions ranging from pre-development, type approval and through to Conformity of Production. Reporting into the Functional Manager -Environmental and Propulsion Test your main responsibilities include;

• Maintain efficient operation of the state of the art test facility at Crewe


• Support multiple shift operations as required to ensure maximum utilisation and uptime of the Bentley test facility


• Ensure that testing practice meets legal and group requirements for relevant markets


• Ensure that process' and procedures are aligned across all facilities and VW group brands


• Ensure that all relevant Risk assessment documentation is prepared, maintained and approved to support testing activities


• Support Audit and effectiveness test activities maintaining compliance and efficient resolution of corrective actions


• Work closely with the test operations team to ensure the facility can operate at maximum efficiency and minimise waste


About the Team
The Technical Conformity Test Operations team is responsible for delivering test solutions to all business functions requiring Emissions and energy test capability.
The function forms part of the Technical Conformity department and facilitates delivery of Conformity of Production, Type approval, Development and Current Model Production testing while maintaining compliance with legislative and group standards.

The successful applicant will be working in a Vehicle Emissions/ advanced Mobility validation or certification role looking to utilise their skills and experience to shape the future of the Technical Conformity Testing function.

• Operation of Pollutant Emissions sample and measurement technologies


• Measurement of ICE, PHEV and EV mobility solutions for fuel and energy consumption.


• An understanding of vehicle, Engine, Powertrain or technology testing and validation.


• The ability to understand and transpose Legal standards to practical applications


• Experience working with type approval and Government bodies


• Experience of working in a highly regulated environment


• The ability to be organised and manage complex information


• Experience in the creation and application of process' and support of risk assessments


• Complex problem solving techniques


• Effective working in cross functional teams


• An Engineering Degree or equivalent relevant experience
