Full Job Description

The Deburring Operative is responsible for removing rough edges (burrs) left behind on parts after the manufacturing process. This ensures a smooth finish and prevents injuries during handling or assembly.

Duties:

  • Manually deburr parts using tools like files, scrapers, deburring knives, and sanding tools.

  • Operate deburring machines to remove burrs efficiently.

  • Visually inspect parts to ensure all burrs are removed and meet quality standards.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • May involve measuring parts to ensure they meet dimensional specifications.

  • Report any discrepancies or defects to the supervisor.

  • Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

    Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good eyesight.

  • Familiarity with basic measuring tools.

  • Experience with deburring tools and techniques preferred.

  • forklift licence essential.

  • abrasive wheels training preferred.


  • Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift and carry light to medium weight objects (up to 25kg).

  • Ability to use repetitive hand and arm motions.
