Full Job Description

As a data engineer at Eebz you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and accuracy of data to support the organisation's needs.

You will collaborate closely with all members of the Data Engineering, Product, Sales and Development teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions, always with a focus on accuracy.

With a strong sense of autonomy and ownership you will be confident and proficient in resolving data-related issues.

Reliability, dependability and accountability are critical aspects of this role.

You will be integral to the business and have the opportunity to grow, learn new technologies and progress quickly.,

  • Ensure data quality and integrity

  • Maintain & analyse large volumes of data from various sources, including e-commerce platforms, APIs, and third-party data providers

  • Optimize data workflows and processes for performance, efficiency and scalability

  • Deliver timely and accurate insights to stakeholders

  • Implement data quality checks, monitoring and validation processes to ensure accuracy, completeness and consistency of data

  • Take ownership of your allocated data set, proactively identifying and addressing issues, optimising performance and implementing best practices for data management and governance

  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and analytics

  • Leverage your knowledge and expertise to add valuable input and insights into improving overall data accuracy and drive innovation and continuous improvement.

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering Team., Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or a related field

  • Experience as a data engineer or similar role

  • Understanding of programming languages such as Python, Regex, Java or Elixir, as well as experience with SQL and database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)

  • Experience with big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL processes and data warehousing concepts

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels

  • Experience working in the e-commerce or retail industry, particularly with digital shelf analytics or online marketplace data is desirable

  • Familiarity with machine learning and data science concepts, tools, and techniques, Bachelor's (required)
