Full Job Description

The Customer Liaison Clerk will process customer orders and enquiries, ensuring products, prices and delivery requirements have been considered in accordance with both customer and company requirements.,

  • Responsible for processing of orders following the procedure and guidance from the Sales Office Manager and Commercial Manager.

  • To issue Order Acknowledgements to customers as outlined in a timely manner.

  • Accountable for filing documents in line with departmental procedure to enable full traceability of all orders received.

  • Assisting and resolving customer order related enquiries by telephone and email.

  • Following pricing guidelines for all quotations/enquiries and orders in line with the prevailing Company policy.

  • Updating of customer portals online with scheduled delivery dates and further information as required.

  • Responsible for handling customer complaints, raising returns requests and requesting credit notes where appropriate.

  • To generate ad-hoc reports as may be required from time to time.

  • Responsible for carrying out all other associated tasks to ensure the effective and efficient running of the commercial department.

    GCSE or equivalent in English and Math.

  • Customer service training (desirable).


  • Skills required:
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office specifically Excel, Word and Outlook

  • Proven customer service skills

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); demonstration of ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff at all levels

  • Ability to work autonomously, using own initiative, managing oneself and workload

  • Good time management skills with the ability to multi-task

  • Analytical

  • Accurate


  • Experience/Knowledge required:
  • Proven sales order processing or data entry experience

  • Experience within a Customer service / Manufacturing / Engineering environment (desirable)

  • Knowledge of EFACS system or similar ERP system (desirable), Rochester: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)


  • Education:
  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)


  • Experience:
  • Customer service: 1 year (preferred)


  • Licence/Certification:
  • Driving Licence (preferred)
